Collaboration tackles skills gaps and supports young talent

Procure Partnerships Framework and 11 of contractor partners have collaborated to sponsor Agent Academy. Procure Partnerships Framework is committed playing a part in the training and developing of young talent and tackling the widespread skills gaps affecting our country. Collaboration is a key Procure Partnerships Framework value and the opportunity to bring 11 organisations together to support the training and development of young people is something the business is immensely proud of.
The 2020 programme is the 11th iteration of Agent Academy and is supported by Procure Partnerships Framework and 11 contractor partners; ISG, Novus Property Solutions, Seddon, Graham, Galliford Try, Crossfield, Interserve, McLaren, City Build, Morris and Spottiswood, and Wates.
Agent Academy was set up in 2014 as a response to the alarming skills gap facing the creative and digital industry. It was established as a solution to the issues faced by 18-25-year-olds, who find themselves, post-higher education, without the skills they need to start careers in the industry.
The 12-week programme provides young people with the opportunity to combine hands-on experience with action-based learning. The programme educates students on the fundamentals of strategy, creative, digital and campaigns, introducing them to influential leaders from different sectors, industries and backgrounds. Students also visit and receive guidance from influential organisations from across the wider city region, to aid their development and to expand their professional networks.
Agent Academy exists because there are currently not enough skilled people to fill the creative and digital jobs and with recent projections stating that by 2024 there will be a further 120,000 roles in the creative industry to fill (The Edge Foundation), the skills gap is only getting worse.
Agent Academy was the first UK training partner to provide Facebook’s digital skills training, helping boost the local economy and supporting more and more young people into the creative and digital industry. This has resulted in huge national interest in the Academy and some incredibly exciting opportunities for further growth.
The success of the Agent Academy is evident in the results it delivers and the impact it has, including:
· 10 Agent Academy programmes
· 120 young people receiving intensive training
· 95% success rate of Academy students securing full time jobs
· Resulting in £2.5 million worth of annual salaries
· Partnership programmes with Facebook, Liverpool John Moores University, Edge Hill University and the University of Liverpool
The 11th iteration of the Agent Academy will involve research into Frameworks and the decision-making process in capital investment teams. The programme will kick off Tuesday January 14th when all sponsoring organisations come together in Liverpool to share ideas and understand how their support will benefit the career opportunities for the young people on the programme.
